Oracle, PL/SQL & Oracle Cloud (OCI)
Decades of hands-on Oracle experience: PL/SQL that the business depends on, databases that need to be faster or newer, and workloads that should move to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure without surprises on the bill.
Oracle Database and PL/SQL
A lot of business logic lives in PL/SQL packages, triggers and jobs that nobody dares to touch. We read it, document it, fix it and extend it carefully, with tests where there were none.
- PL/SQL developmentNew packages, procedures and APIs; bug fixes and new business rules in existing code; code reviews and refactoring.
- Performance tuningAWR/ASH analysis, execution plans, indexing, statistics and rewriting the few queries that cause most of the load.
- Upgrades & patchingOracle Database upgrades (e.g. 11g/12c/19c to 19c or 23ai) with tested rollback, plus regular release updates.
- Data & integrationData migrations, ETL, REST interfaces (ORDS), file interfaces and scheduler jobs that are monitored and documented.
Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
OCI is often the most cost-effective cloud for Oracle workloads, and its Always Free and flexible shapes make small setups surprisingly cheap. We design and build OCI environments that are secure by default and sized for what you really use.
- ArchitectureCompartments, VCNs, subnets, security lists and NSGs, bastion access, IAM policies with least privilege.
- MigrationMoving databases and applications from on-premise to OCI (Base Database Service, Autonomous Database or VMs) with minimal downtime.
- Cost controlRight-sized flexible shapes, autoscaling and scheduled shutdowns, budget alerts and regular cost reviews.
- Hybrid connectivitySite-to-site VPN or FastConnect between your office or data centre and OCI.
Frequently asked questions
Can you work on our existing PL/SQL code without the original developers?
Yes. Reading and documenting unfamiliar PL/SQL is a normal part of our work. We start by mapping dependencies and critical paths before changing anything.
Is Oracle Cloud cheaper than AWS or Azure?
For Oracle Database workloads it often is, because of licensing and pricing of compute and egress. It depends on your workload, so we compare options with real numbers before recommending one.
Can you upgrade our Oracle Database with minimal downtime?
Yes. We test the upgrade on a copy first, measure the downtime, and plan a rollback. Depending on the version, techniques such as Data Pump, transportable tablespaces or Data Guard keep the window short.
